Well, our trip plans to Copan` have changed a little.  Glade went on line late this afternoon to print out our boarding passes and found out that the tickets were for 6:00 p.m. tomorrow instead of 6:00 a.m. like he thought.  He must have inadvertently clicked on the wrong box.  Without lengthy explanations, we thought we were just going to be out the money and not get a trip at all.  Since it is impossible to call the airport or get any help online, we decided to go directly to the airport and see what the airline could do for us.  The tickets were non-refundable, etc., etc.
We called David` and he came right over and drove us to the airport.  This was at a little after 5:00 p.m.  We were met by a man who took us right to the ticket counter in a very quiet airport with almost no people around and only two people working behind the entire line of counters—one just happened to be at the airline we needed.  A sweet girl helped us make some changes so that we kept the mistaken time of 6:00 p.m. but extended the return trip by 12 hours, and it only cost us $22.  Wow—relief.  By 5:30 it was getting dark and a little rainy, and it’s a little scary to be out in the city in the dark, but we made it back in great shape.  We were gone less than an hour and had only to call our hosts and ask them to make the changes in their schedule and to change the reservations in Copan` from Thursday night to Friday night.  It was definitely a tender mercy for us today to have it all work out, and now we don’t have to get up at 3:30 a.m. to get to the airport.
There has been so much cleaning and maintenance going on here; it is like a beehive with carpets being cleaned, furniture sanded and painted, apartments being deep-cleaned, power going on and off, hot water disappearing completely (we heating water on the stove as I type for a bath!) and the Ac going on and off all day.  No wonder people choose to leave here during the break!  It will all be wonderful when it is finished, however; and our schedule is very flexible.  One crew is going to paint our apartment this week-end and another will do a deep-clean.

Glade spent from 6:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. stationed at a side entrance to the temple where the workers come and go, to check recommends or to see if they are on the list of workers allowed into the temple.  He took a pillow for his back, a book, a water bottle, and a lunch and made it through his shift.  There was air conditioning keeping him cool, so he did great!  I played the piano at the Church for an hour and a half and loved it.  All in all—it was a great day!
This truck brought in a load of sand which these guys are shoveling onto the parking lot.  There are two mixers going I assume to mix mortar of some kind for the tiles.  It was so strange to see the wheel-barrowing this stuff into the temle!

The grounds crew were taking out weak plants from the flower beds and cleaning them up--again!

This crew scrubbed and cleaned the sidewalks and their walls.

This crew just arrived and I'm not sure what their job was.

Glade stepped outside the temple side door for a picture.

The man on the far right is Dan--the worker from Utah who is directing the floor renovation.

Glade at his station!

The area rugs were hung from the balcony to dry after being shampooed.
This is our residence building and they will do our rug tomorrow.

By the time I realized my camera was in my purse, this beautiful sunset was almost spent.  This was taken at the airport while we waited for our taxi driver to drive around and pick us up after making our ticket changes.
No matter where you look, there are always powers lines in the way--they are just everywhere!
