We
were able to skype with Tracen and Melissa tonight and see sweet Eloise up
close. What a sweet experience a new
baby is and they bring so much love to everyone. How I wish I could be there to hold her and
love her in person. What a blessing for
us to have technology, however, that lets us get so close. By the way, we would love more pictures and
posts on the Family Blog from you who are a little behind J J J
Yesterday when we
were shopping for groceries, we met two sets of Elders who were also getting
their food for the week. Three of the
four (they were not together and we met them at different times) were North
American. One is from Twin Falls and has
been in Honduras for about a month. His
companion is from Ogden and he has been out for about seven months. They singled us out and said—you look like you
are from the States! We had a great
visit and they are excited about their work.
One had battled a liver infection from eating pork in Honduras. I asked him if they bleach their fruits and
veggies, and he said, “Oh, we really should, but we just don’t have time!” Then he told about his liver problems. I thought—you really have more time to bleach
the produce than to be sick. Of course,
you don’t bleach the pork—you just choose not to eat pork! They both plan to attend BYU-I after their
missions and want to keep in touch.
There
were three youth groups this morning for baptisms, but very few patrons for the
sessions. Every day is different which
keeps things interesting.
We exercised this evening under threatening heavy
black clouds, and distant lightning, but thankfully no rain—at least until we
finished. It was very hot today, so we
didn’t start until it was nearly dark.
I’m only willing to do that if Glade walks with me. Darkness brings out the fear in me.
Sending love and blessings to all—Good
night!
