There is not much to blog about tonight
except that the wind has stopped blowing—for three days now—and it makes us
remember how beautiful it was here and how great it felt to be outside without
getting blown away the first whole year that we were here. It may blow again before we leave, but wow it
was so peaceful without it today!
Gina and I had a practice this evening
at the church although it was delayed from what we planned. This has not been a
great day for her. She parked her car in
the parking lot with four sleeping children curled up on the seats and noticed
after getting out of the car that it wasn’t sitting straight. The right rear tire was completely flat! When she lifted her viola case from the back
of the car, the strap broke, leaving her to carry it under her arm. It is not fixable. And last night her sewing machine broke—children
can be so hard on things! Well, I told
her that hard things often come in threes and she got three all at once in less
than 24 hours, so she should be fine tomorrow.
She was grateful that the flat tire didn’t happen on the busy thirty-minute
drive she makes to get her children to school.
Kids here all wear uniforms to school and she makes them for her
children, so the sewing machine is pretty important. I hope she can fix it.
Eventually, we were able to practice and
it was good. The recital is only two
weeks away now and we are getting butterflies!
Tonight I am counting my blessings and
thinking positive. J Good Night,
Everyone! Love and hugs to you all.
