When the prayer/training meeting
started for the afternoon shift which began at 12:00 noon, Glade and I were the
only workers in attendance! That has never happened before and it was so
odd. But Pres. Valle started as usual
and asked me to say the prayer. He said
it didn’t matter that the words were in English, since the feelings in my heart
and in my message would be felt. We were
glad that he opted out of the hymn singing!
A few more workers trickled in and eventually there were enough to carry
the load—especially enough sisters.
Two beautiful brides were sealed to
their husbands today and one of them was the daughter of our stake
president. Two of her bridesmaids were
Katia and Karin Valledares, two sisters mentioned previously in this blog and
whose pictures are with the Thanksgiving Dinner photos. They looked so beautiful in gorgeous long
teal dresses. The wind was blowing so
hard, though, that at least one of the sweet brides ditched her long pretty
veil and had pictures taken without it.
It was my night to work late and I was
nearly the last one to leave the temple besides the Pres. and his wife. The ordinances I was helping with just kept
going and going and going. But the
sisters were sweet—one very intent, another very emotional, and all five of
them determined in their efforts. So it
was very much worth the extra time it took to finish.
The music practice scheduled with Gina
tonight after the late temple shift was cancelled and it is a good thing since
all my energy was spent and it would not have been a productive practice. The recital is only three weeks away,
however, and we are going to be desperate for more practice time.
Enjoy the rest of your week-end and
have a spiritual Sabbath Day.
