It was so cool this morning that it felt like a spring morning in Idaho.  Glade loved it because he needs it to be cool when he swims, and it made for a wonderful outdoor walk.
An excursion was planned today for the missionary couples and temple presidency.   It was to a place we have already visited, Ojojona, which is about an hour to an hour and a half away; so we opted not to go so Glade could rest his back.  One of the couples went to Nicaragua for medical treatment last week and hasn’t returned, and one couple who is local had family come for their FHE, so the outing was cancelled and we spent a restful day getting ready for the week ahead.  We loved having a whole day to ourselves.
I am still practicing “furiously” for next week’s recital and I’m getting nervous.  It takes us twenty minutes to play the first two movements and we only have a couple of practices together left.  It is sad to me that we have to deal with the adrenaline rush, shaking fingers, and shallow breathing during important performances.  So, no matter how well one prepares, that element can make it look like a person’s preparation was incomplete.  Oh, well.  I’ll quit whining.  I am just so happy to have a reason to practice and a chance to work with Gina.  We have to look on the bright side of everything!!!
We found another can of pumpkin in the grocery store, probably left over from its thanksgiving offering, so we bought it; and tonight I made one last pumpkin sheet cake for Glade and used up a few more items from our cupboard.  The oil came out just right to the very last drop.  Glade just needs a treat and this will keep him going for a couple of weeks!   This cake freezes so well and is easy to keep for a while.
We are happy to be working afternoons/evenings this week.  Hope you all have a wonderful week.

    Love you all; Good night!

Remember this picture from a few days ago?
The new leaves are growing straight up from the middle of the plant.
This morning it looked like this as these fronds are beginning to open.  You can't see it from this photo, but the leaves are so beautiful--they are really lacy and just gorgeous.
