Cold temperatures
prevailed here but at least the wind had stilled. It would have been nice to get outside for a while
today, but that won’t happen until it warms up a bit.
More kind friends came
by today to visit, one this afternoon who lives next door and is supervising
the “break-the-fast” pot-luck tomorrow, and another this evening while Glade
was in the temple. The latter came
bearing a book written by her daughter and published by Deseret Book, and a
small plate of brownies and mints. I’ll
read the book and share a review with you.
It was sad to miss
another family event today, Amelia’s baptism.
But she called me on the phone, we a great visit, and Emily sent
photos. We’ll miss one more, next month
making three. But again, we are so
grateful for the Lord’s blessings to our family and know that we must serve while we
can.
We
realized there was no airing of the movie “Ground Hog Day” on TV yesterday; and
even though it makes me crazy through the middle part, I would have been
entertained by it in my state!
Glade had
a great experience with a young man from Venezuela tonight in the temple who
had ten family names to do initiatory work for.
He didn’t speak much English and was quite timid as he waited for
help. Glade and a native-Spanish speaker
were summoned and the two of them helped him with the ten names. He was in tears after the first one and
remained emotional during all the work for all of the names who were close
relatives. He really appreciated being
able to hear the words so well spoken in his own language. Glade loved every minute of the
experience. He always loves helping people
on a one-on-one level.
Hope your
week-end is great! Love to All! 😊
