A mistake in the date
on February 1 just caught my eye, but I’m not sure how to correct it, so it
will just have to save “Monday, February 1” instead of “Thursday, February 1st.” Oh, well.
Our bishop emailed us
today telling us that our stake president did not recover from the carbon
monoxide poisoning yesterday, and passed away in the afternoon. It is such a tragic loss. He was a great man, full of energy, a great
speaker, and was concerned for the people he served. His wife was released from the hospital and
is doing well. It’s a heads-up for
everyone, that we never know when our stay on this earth will be over and we
shouldn’t procrastinate anything that is important to us leaving loose ends
that we hope to take care of “someday.”
Lisa Hardman’s cancer was not eradicated by her latest chemo treatments
and her days are numbered. I talked with
her on the phone recently and she told me she has made a bucket list of things
she wants to do while she still can.
Maybe we should all make a bucket list and work on the priorities,
leaving the trivial and worldly things behind.
My foot has felt a
little better today. It’s hard to keep
the boredom away even though there are plenty of things I can do. They are all sedentary and it will be
wonderful when I can really move again.
Patience, patience, patience š
Our next-door neighbor
came by this afternoon bringing a quart of chocolate almond ice cream—the perfect
“cheer-up” food, he said.
Another week-end is
here! Enjoy, Everyone. Love to you! š
Sorry to hear about your stake president. It seems like every winter, we hear about carbon monoxide incidents like that one. Also, who is Lisa Hardman? Seems I've heard that name before, but can't remember.
ReplyDeleteMike, Lisa is my old piano teacher. You've heard her name because we were worried her Facebook post would ruin Mom's birthday surprise. :)
DeleteThat's right, thanks Alexis.
