Merry Christmas!! Our day was a special one as we celebrated
the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and remembered the abundance of
blessings Heavenly Father has showered over us and our family.
It started a little
rough since we are both age-related sleep-deprived, and it was worsened for
Glade by a chirping sound we could not find.
Long story short—he went to investigate this morning and found a dying alarm
battery in the empty apartment above ours.
The couple living there had left for a couple of days. He obtained the key, found the culprit,
changed the battery, and finally relaxed.
He did, however, have to brave the cold wind and walk off some angst outdoors.
I baked a boxed Krusteaz
cinnamon roll mix that didn’t hold a candle to “real” homemade cinnamon rolls,
but it really made our apartment smell wonderful and gave the holiday feel I
was hoping for. We opened a few presents
and had a relaxing morning.
Our progressive dinner took place in the four buildings
here with each one hosting a course in the apartments on the third floor. The food was great, but by the time we got to
dessert, I just came straight home skipping that fare since I couldn’t eat
another bite! Glade had a piece of
cherry cheesecake to finish his Christmas dinner. It was nice to socialize with this group of
amazing people, but we are all tired and ready for routine again. The time in the temple this week is predicted
to be busy and we already have extra assignments. We hope people will come.
I got a frame for our puzzle and now it is displayed on our wall. I will think of all my kids being here for my
birthday, Thanksgiving, and holiday celebration! It still just warms my heart and makes me
smile.
