The hardest and longest days of the week are over.  Even though our evening shifts on Friday and Saturday are shorter, it’s strange to be leaving our apartment in the dark as well as coming home in the dark.  ‘Tis that season.

It was a balmy mid-fifty-degree morning so we walked and it was beautiful.  It turned really cold tonight, however, when the wind blew into town; and we’ve had to ramp up the heat in our apartment since it isn’t insulated very well.  It’s cozy, though.  There are four big sprikets (jumping spiders or camel crickets) in the sticky traps I set out!  They are so creepy.  I'm ready to line all the perimeters with dryer sheets.  If that works for mice, maybe it will work for these pesky jumpers, too.

I just had to bring these two leaves home this morning to show you how big they are.  They are sitting next to my watch for perspective.
