Monday, November 27, 2017

We have so many things on our list to do on Mondays that the time just flies and the day is over before we know it.  Besides a little laundry, a trip to the grocery store, a stop at the bank, a quick trip to the mall for sundries, and a session at the stake center to practice Christmas piano, Glade had to find a Best Buy and take his sick computer for help.  It just wouldn’t load anything today and the little circle just kept going around and around and around.  He tried everything that everyone has suggested, but nothing worked.  The Geek Squad should have a diagnostic by Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, a missionary couple who have become our good friends called and asked us if we would like to come to the temple and be part of a video clip the Church is putting together for the new website for senior missionaries.  We said, “Sure!” and spent 30 minutes in casual conversation etc., while the camera rolled.  It was kind of fun.  There were six of us and we chatted easily with smiles and laughter and walked and waved and did whatever the director told us to do.  It will only be a three-minute segment and only 30 seconds of the clip will cover the Washington DC Temple; but who knows—we might have a brief appearance!  One of the couples was the main focus and was interviewed during the filming, so I’m sure they will be featured.  As for the rest of us, there may or may not be any usable footage, but it was really fun to be a part of that for a short time!

One of the missionaries took photos, but we have to get a thumb drive and take it to his apartment to get copies.  He has a really nice camera and sets it up on a tripod with a timer.  He turns it on and takes his place with the group and then it automatically takes six photos with about 5 seconds between each one.  It was a little cool outside with a slight breeze, but the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day!

We hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving week-end and are home now recuperating and getting back to work, school, and your usual schedules.  We would love to hear all about your holiday experience.  I am still basking in the glow of my amazing birthday and holiday gift of family in real time and will be for many days to come!!!

Love you all!  Enjoy the season and get ready for the second round of “Light the World.”  I watched the first video and loved it!
