Saturday night at last!  Working five long days in a row certainly lets us know that we are not “young chickens” any more and takes a toll on our energy reserves.  Today was a nine-hour day in the temple; a grocery-shopping day at Deprova and a “let’s-get-the-laundry-done” day!  I did have a fun conversation with a young sister ordinance worker today.  She spoke about as much English as I did Spanish.  We had a good time helping each other out and actually communicated!
After our fun Skpye with family members at Scott and Emily’s house, we took off on foot down the hill toward the grocery store.  It didn’t take too long before a taxi stopped and took us the rest of the way.  I was glad since the sidewalk ended once we were no longer on Church property and there was just a trail through garbage strewn weeds and tall grass.  Sometimes the trail ended and we were way too close to the traffic.  However, if you know Glade, you know he is always up for an adventure and doesn’t worry about anything!
The taxi ride got us out of the traffic, but it was the usual old car with worn and peeling interior, no seatbelts, and rolled-down windows for air conditioning.  Ahh--for the luxuries we have left behind.  We lucked out on the return trip, though.  We had wheeled our cart full of groceries to the street and were just hailing another taxi when Pres. Ocampo drove by in the Temple Presidency car.  He spotted us right off and stopped to give us a ride!  Oh what comfort—and seatbelts, too!

We are so looking forward to a great night’s sleep!  Everyone be safe on your return trips after the holiday.  We will be praying for you as always.  Good night!

  1. I've loved reading all these posts. I had gotten behind because I'm here in Idaho without a computer, but I got caught up at Scott and Emily's house, and now Corey is back with me so I have his. the pictures are wonderful. I love hearing that you can speak English with people once in awhile, I'll post some pictures on the family blog of our Idaho time. Love you both!
