We took our morning walk and then
spent the rest of the day preparing for Family Home Evening. Glade asked everyone last night to think of
two interesting experiences from their past to share and create one that was
false. Each person shared his or her “truths
and a falsehood” and the rest of the group tried to guess which one was
false. It was a great way for everyone
to share something about themselves and help us all get to know each other a
little better. Some of the realities
they shared were funny, some scary, and some very unusual. Glade made me give my own in Spanish. He wrote them out for me.
Refreshments consisted of cheese biscuits,
chips and salsa, cookie pudding salad and drinks. Substitutions had to be made in the salad
since all of the ingredients were not available. Yogurt replaced buttermilk, lemon instant
pudding replaced vanilla pudding, Dream Whip (powdered whipped topping mix)
replaced Cool Whip (although we found one small container), and Chips Ahoy
replaced Fudge-Striped cookies. It
actually turned out pretty good. I
really like the lemon flavor in the pudding but the Chips Ahoy didn’t hold up
as well as the Fudge-Striped cookies do.
A big bus loaded with people from
Nicaragua arrived this evening. It will
be busy in the temple in the morning. We
have the afternoon/evening shift this next week.
