We have moved right on into July which
in our other life meant that summer was definitely in progress, the garden
growing and producing, and the heat wave on!
Here in Tegucigalpa it is not summer
although it doesn’t feel like any other season.
We have neither garden nor produce, and the temperatures stay pretty
even at around 80 degrees. The sun comes
up and sets at the same time each day giving us about 12 hours of daylight and
12 hours of darkness. It is almost like
time stands still. We did have a nice
thunderstorm today, however; and it created a wonderful “mood.”
There was nothing pressing on our
shopping list, so we just stayed home today and did some major cleaning,
studying, and the laundry. Of course, we
had Home Evening with our group and it was nice. Since it is all in Spanish, I am mostly an
observer. It is our turn next week so we
have to come up with a refreshment idea again.
Maybe we’ll get more strawberry ice cream and have banana splits. One thing the group is not big on is
sweets. Maybe we’ll do chips and
salsa!
