It’s nice to have a P-day on Monday to
regroup for the rest of the week. Glade
got up early and did his exercising. He
met up with the security guard and arranged for me to get a key to the building
so I could play the piano. An hour
later I took my little card with a couple of Spanish phrases on it and my music
and headed out to find him. He didn’t
speak any English, but we managed and he let me into the chapel. It felt so comforting to put hands to keys
and feel the music. The piano is not new
but sounds pretty good even though it lacks the sustaining pedal in some of the
upper notes. That’s okay. It’s a piano and I have access. It made my day.
The Family Home Evening included a
change of pace with a game that Sister Bassett (the 80-year-old missionary)
made up when she served her first mission.
It showed a little different side of people’s personalities. Everyone was good natured and I recognized
lots of words, but not as many definitions.
There was more Honduran thunder and
lightning today and lots of rain. It is
supposed to rain for two weeks—we’ll see.
It doesn’t matter much to us since we spend most of our time in the
temple.
