According to Wikipedia, September has
more rain than any other month of the year in Tegucigalpa.
We have felt the change in the weather as it has rained nearly every day
for about a week. The mornings when we
walk have been sunny and warm. Then the
clouds gather and the rains begin mid to late afternoon. The storms are noisy and light up our dark
rooms at night through our huge windows.
Sister Amado stopped by our apartment
on her way home from the temple tonight to give me something another sister had
left for her to give me. It was a
chocolate truffle-like wrapped candy with this note tied around it:
“Dear Sister Peterson. This is nothing, but something to tell you
Happy Grandparents Day! I’m glad to know
somebody like you—willing to give your time, smile, and love to us. You are just a great Grand Mother! With Love, Hermana Rosalinda.”
What a special thought from a sweet sister
who took time to recognize and respond to a missionary grandmother who has left
loved ones behind to be here. As you can
imagine, it really made my day.
The blessings from this mission experience
that Glade and I are having are flowing and our hearts are filled with
gratitude every day. I hope that you are
looking for and recognizing the hand of the Lord in your own lives every day as
well.
Love you all so much!
