It’s Christmas Eve and we are far away
from hearth and home, but feel blessed to be here serving a mission. It feels deserted tonight with only four couples
remaining here in the Casa de Huespedes.
The weather was beautiful after a hot morning and a refreshing afternoon rain. Tonight—actually all afternoon, too—the air has
been filled with the constant banging and popping of loud fireworks. They are the ones that just make lots of
noise and it sounds like a warzone outside.
The colorful sprays that spill into the night sky after being catapulted
into the darkness come later—maybe New Year’s Eve or maybe tomorrow night.
Tonight we watched a couple of cute Christmas
movies on Netflix and ate tamales and more cherry cheesecake after a relaxing
and restful day.
We are so grateful for a wonderful
family, special friends, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are feeling deep gratitude for Heavenly
Father’s gift to the world of His Son Jesus Christ, for the Atonement, and God’s
love for each of us as individuals.
Merry Christmas, Everyone.
Hi Mom! Hope you are feeling better. Did you eat the banana slices? Merry Christmas!
