         Something has happened to the piano that I practice on at the Church.  It was okay on Sunday before the regional choir practice, but since then the pedal doesn’t function on most of the keyboard while the upper range has a sustaining problem that won’t release the sound—the opposite of no pedal.  The touch is off and it is impossible to have a productive or even enjoyable session.  There is still all of the Christmas music to get through in the next two weeks and it will be a challenge.  I am trying not to be sad, but it is really a let-down.  Thinking of all my blessings always helps my attitude, however; so I’ll start counting. J
