We met a couple in the temple today
from Farmington, Utah. They came to pick
up their son who is finishing his mission here; and the three of them were in
the session that Glade and I led, along with two other elders—one from
Mississippi and the other from Sandy, Utah, who are also going home. We had enough time to visit with them for
several minutes after the session and it was like a breath of fresh air to talk
to someone from home and in fluent English!
The winter weather in the U.S. is
making me a little nervous about our trip home after seeing that hundreds of
flights have been cancelled again. We are
only a week away from heading out and I really don’t want to spend the night in
a Marriott someplace on the way.
A very sweet girl who recently returned
from a mission was in the temple again today and told me that she and her mom,
who is a temple worker, want to take us to lunch before we leave. We are really out of days and out of time,
but she wrote down our phone number and said she would call. She speaks English very well and it was such
a pleasant experience to be around her and talk to her.
The rough draft of my talk is finished,
but it is a little long unless I talk very fast. At least the hardest part is done and now it
just needs some refining.
Every day is so busy and the time goes
by so fast that I can’t figure out when we are going to get a break to pack and
finish up here. But I am ready to start
putting things in the suitcase!
Good night, everyone. Love you all so much and can’t wait to see
everybody! Take care and we’ll see you
soon!
