This has been a bit of an emotional day
as the reality dawns that we will really be leaving this beautiful experience
in such a short time. I worked on my
talk and Glade sorted tidbits in drawers and papers deciding what to through
away, what to give away, and what to keep.
Glade carried our decorated Christmas tree down to the apartment of our
friends, the Gomez’s. After we situated
it in the perfect corner spot, I plugged in the lights and it looked so pretty and
warmed the room with its glow.
We have five dinner appointments during
the next 11 days and it is going to challenge us. But people are so kind and it is their loving
way of saying they are glad we came and that they will miss us but wish us
well.
Elder Small (who towers well over six
feet tall) and his companion came into Sacrament Meeting with another family of
investigators and it just warms our hearts every time we see them.
We were humbled again watching a young deacon
push another young man in a wheel chair so he could pass the sacrament. It appears that he has cerebral palsy or
something similar, but he is always smiling and is steady enough still that he
handles his Priesthood responsibility with dignity.
Gina’s young daughter played the hymns for
Sacrament Meeting—they were some of the most difficult in the book—and she did
a great job. So there will still be music in
this ward with her efforts and a few others who are just learning.
It is starting to heat up here as the warmest
months are just ahead. When we go
outside in the evenings now, it is not nearly as cool as recent weeks. We will have to brace for "weather shock" coming back to Idaho in pre-spring days. :)
Good Night, Everyone! Lot to you all.
Tegucigalpa, Honduras; 73 degrees at 10:30
p.m., partly cloudy and breezy!
